How long will it take before I am successful in getting a property through Homelink?
Even though Nottingham Homelink manages around 29,500 properties across Nottingham, only a small number of properties are available at any one time. Usually around 90-100 properties are advertised each week on this website and in Thursday's Nottingham Evening Post.
For you to have some idea about the amount of time you may have to wait before you are successful in getting a property see the information below.
Please note: These figures are only to be used as a guide and show how long other people have had to wait for a property. You may have longer to wait if family type accommodation is needed as there is a high demand for this type of property.

| Band 1 - for people who are legally homeless that the council has a legal duty to rehouse |
The Housing Aid Team from Nottingham City Council assess these groups of people. |
| Band 2 - urgent needs | - serious racial harassment - certain assessed disabilities and illnesses - people who cannot return to their home after a hospital discharge - certain cases of family breakdown - people whose property will be, or has been, demolished - people within the 'Rough Sleepers Initiative' |
| Band 3 - moderate needs | - people with a hostel support plan who need to move - private tenants with a Notice Seeking Possession or Notice to Quit which is not their fault - people who have two children of both sexes aged under 10 sharing a bedroom - tenants of flats who have children but no garden - tenants leaving a high-demand property to move to a lower-demand one |
| Band 4 - general needs | - private tenants with security of tenure - lodgers who are single or in a couple without dependent children |
| Band 5 - low needs | People given this banding are only considered if there is no demand for properties from people in categories 1-4 above |
| Band 6 - people who are waiting for us to consider them for housing, or who live outside Nottinghamshire |
