Recycle

When you move, don't just dump all your old items. Think green and ask yourself, can this be recycled or reused?

Have a look below at a few suggestions for recycling and reusing your old things.

Help a local charity

Most of us have too many things. If you've run out of space, or have no need for your stuff, why not take it to a local charity shop?

As long as they are in a reasonable condition, you can donate your old:

  • Baby, children and adult clothes
  • Books
  • CDs
  • Furniture
  • Electrical goods.

Some charity shops collect for free. Not all, but some will also take electrical goods.

Recycle - Household waste and recycling centres

Don't just dump. Why not recycle?

Household waste and recycling centres can be found across Nottingham. They include:

  • Redfield Road, Lenton Industrial Estate (NG7 2UJ)
  • Hollinwood Lane, Calverton (NG14 6NR)
  • Wigwam Lane, Hucknall (NG15 7TD)

Home collection services

Some charities/ companies will collect your goods from home. The services available include:

  • Buying a new appliance? The company you are buying from may collect your old one
  • Charities may want your second hand furniture and appliances if they are in good condition. Try the Family First Furniture Recycling Service on 0800 013 0497
