Need our help? Advice, support and bidding

Older person bidding

Finding it hard to use Nottingham Homelink? Getting confused about bidding? Need some help and advice on filling in your form?

We want to make sure everyone has an equal chance when bidding for properties through Homelink. We work with advice and support organisations right across Nottingham who can help you.

HomeLink Support Officers

HomeLink Support Officers play a vital role in helping people place bids. You can contact them on 0115 915 7130 or 0115 915 7153. The support they offer includes:

  • Holding weekly surgeries and drop in sessions at all the area housing offices
  • Visiting you at your home to discuss your individual support needs
  • Showing you how to place bids
  • Offering advice on availability of properties across the city
  • Sending you a copy of the weekly advertisement if you are housebound
  • Providing one to one support for very vulnerable applicants.

If you tell us you need help to bid for properties, or our assessment has highlighted this, a HomeLink Support Officer will contact you to arrange a home visit.

We may find support agencies to help you throughout the bidding process or if you are unable to bid for yourself and don't have extra support, your HomeLink Support Officer will place bids for you.

Interpretation and translation

If you struggle to speak English we can arrange for an interpreter to help you.

If you are unable to read any of our publications, or fill in an application form, please contact your area housing office or call us on 0845 330 3131. We can also produce our leaflets and publications in other languages and formats - such as a spoken word version on tape or CD.
