Bidding explained

there are all different types of flats to rent

Find your new home by visiting our search pages.

You can search by area, or by type of property, or both.

When you view a property's details, you'll see information including:

  • Address
  • Number of bedrooms
  • Property type - such as 'sheltered flat'
  • Bid preference - for example 'band four'
  • Floor level - such as '1st floor' if it's in a block of flats
  • What sort of heating the property has
  • The weekly rent
  • Who can apply - for example 'Over 60s' for a sheltered flat
  • Some local information ('very nice scheme in good area, close to shops and the QMC')
  • Landlord - which HomeLink partner is offering the property.

What are the symbols - and what do they mean?

When you search for a new home, you'll see a number of symbols attached to each property.

We use these so you can see at a glance what the property has to offer - such as the number of bedrooms, whether it's a flat and has a lift (or not), does it have a garden or garage, or whether pets are allowed. The symbols also help you if you struggle with English.
