Changes to the allocations policy

Following various issues identified in the recent Audit Commission report, Nottingham City Homes introduced its new allocations policy on 13th February 2006.
It made the allocations policy easier to understand and moved away from a points based approach to one using a system of bands.
As an applicant, you will be placed into a band rather than receiving points. This depends on your priority for rehousing. The other members of the partnership - the housing associations - have all agreed to the general principles of each of these bands.
Another change to the allocations policy is that you will have to prove a local connection to Nottingham before an allocation can be made to you from Nottingham City Homes. This means you must have:
- been resident in Nottingham for 6 out of the past 12 months OR
- be employed in Nottingham OR
- have immediate family living in Nottingham who also meet the local connection criteria.
