Advertising and bidding
Advertising our properties
We do this in the following ways:
- through this website from 12 noon on Fridays until 11.59 p.m on Wednesdays.
- in Monday's Nottingham Evening Post
- on posters in housing offices and at the appropriate housing
association offices - on an advertisement sent to support agencies and community groups who are part of our outreach programme
- vulnerable customers who may need extra help from our HomeLink Support Officers are sent a copy of the advertisement if this is what they want
You can access this website through kiosks in the Aspley, Bulwell and Clifton housing offices and at Housing Aid (Nottingham City Council).
You can also use computers in most libraries in the City to browse the Nottingham HomeLink website and to make bids on line.
Bidding for our properties
You can place bids for properties in the following ways:
- through this website
- through an automated telephone line - 0845 338 1988
- in person at all housing offices or the Housing Services Centre at Hounds Gate - you can do it yourself or as one of our staff to help you
How do I know if I am successful?
All eligible bids will be considered within two working days of close of bids.
The successful bidder will be the applicant who has been in the band the property has been advertised to for the longest amount of time. We will check to make sureyou meet the eligibility criteria and that you are correctly on the waiting list. If you are successful, you will be offered the property and will be contacted wherever possible by telephone.
If you have not been contacted by the Monday after close of bids, you should assume that you have not been successful and consider bidding on the properties advertised on the following Friday.
Rent arrears
You will not be offered accommodation if you have rent arrears unless there are exceptional circumstances and an approval has been given by our allocations panel for you to move.
Local lettings
Sometimes we take a different approach to letting properties in certain estates or areas. This is because they have specific problems such as high levels of crime and/or anti-social behaviour. This may mean that we cannot offer you a property in this area, as applicants with a risk of anti-social behaviour will not be considered.
Restrictions may also be applied to certain housing areas, for example, age restrictions. Information on restrictions will clearly be displayed within the “Who can apply” information on the website and advertisement..
